We’re taking the aggressive approach and going through with the original recommendation: open reduction. Doctor makes an incision, tightens the capsule, closes it up, puts on the cast. Talked to him this morning, he seemed nicer on the phone. Still gruff and brief, but included pleasantries such as, “Pleasure speaking with you.”
Surgery scheduled for 12:15 pm Monday afternoon. We check in at 10:45 am. Like a Gremlin, she can’t have any solid food after midnight. Breastmilk only till 7:15 am. Only clear liquids till 9:15 am. Then nothing to eat at all till surgery time.
Focus on the positives: people that care about us are stepping up to help. Grandparents are on their way. Meals are being supplied from church folks. Friends have offered to visit. We have to go through this, can’t go under, around, or over.
